Contact – Directions

From Stuttgart’s main station (Hauptbahnhof), take either the S-Bahn (city rail) S1 (towards Herrenberg), S2 or S3 (both towards Airport), all departing from platform 101 on the lower level underneath the train station. Get off at the “Universität” station and follow the signs there to the “Wohngebiet Schranne / Endelbang / Nobelstrasse” exit. You are now on Universitätsstrasse where you will find signs directing you to “Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft” (approx. 650 m). Alternatively, take bus no. 84 or 92 from the “Universität” station to the “Fraunhofer” bus-stop. Plan approx. 30 minutes from the main station to the IGB building (this includes walking time). 

Leave motorway A 81 or A 8 at the “Stuttgarter Kreuz” junction. Take the A 831 in the direction of “Stuttgart Zentrum” (City center) and exit at “Universität”. Turn left at the traffi c lights onto Universitätsstrasse and keep straight on until Universitätsstrasse becomes Nobelstrasse after a sharp bend to the right. After a further 400 m, the Fraunhofer-Institutszentrum will appear on the right.

From Stuttgart airport, take the S-Bahn (city rail) S2 or S3 in the direction of Stuttgart-Vaihingen / Hauptbahnhof. Get off at the “Universität” station and continue as described directly above. A taxi from the airport will cover the distance of 14 km in approx. 20 minutes.

Leave the A 93 motorway at Landau a. d. Isar.
Leave the A 3 motorway via the Straubing/Cham/​B 20 exit.

In both cases, follow the B 20 in the direction of Straubing and exit at Straubing Ost/Ittling. You are now on Ittlinger Straße. Follow the signs to the City Center (Stadtzentrum) for approx. 2 km and turn left at the traffic lights where Ittlinger Straße meets Schlesische Straße. Continue on Ittlinger Straße for approx. 600 m until it becomes Heerstraße. Leave Heerstraße after another 200 m by turning right into Schulgasse. Turn left after St. Peter Elementary School approx. 140 m further on and you will see the parking spaces in front of our lab building.

Coming from the North, follow Chamer Straße via Schlossbrücke into Straubing. After crossing the bridge, turn left into Uferstraße then right after approx. 500 m into Petersgasse. After another 120 m, turn left to stay on Petersgasse. Turn right 36 m further on into Schulgasse, where our lab building is located on the right-hand side after St. Peter Elementary School.

A9 Berlin – Munich to the interchange “Rippachtal”, continue on A38 in the direction of Göttingen.

A38 Kassel / Göttingen – Leipzig / Dresden, exit at “Leuna”.

Take the Bundesstrasse B91 to Halle / Saale, just before entering city limits of Merseburg, turn right to „Tor 12“. Please follow the instructions of the employees at the entrance.

„Fraunhofer-Zentrum für Chemisch-Biotechnologische Prozesse CBP, 06237 Leuna“
When entering „Am Haupttor“ it will direct you to the main entrance of the chemical site Leuna, which is 3 km away.

The access by public transportation is very restricted.

Take the train to Merseburg, 4 km, or Bad Dürrenberg, 10.4 km away from Fraunhofer CBP.

Take a taxi to Fraunhofer CBP, or from Bad Dürrenberg station take the tramway S5 to the stop „Leunatorstraße“. From here allow 45 minutes for the walk to Fraunhofer CBP.

The stop „Leuna Nord“ is reserved for employees. You are not allowed to access the chemical site without authorization.

Use a rental car or taxi from the international airport Leipzig / Halle to Fraunhofer CBP. The airport is 25 km away from Leuna.
