Further Analytical Methods

Further physical and chemical characterizations can be determined by subsequent analytical methods. These include the analysis of surface tensions (tensiometry), of absorption behavior of UV and visible light (UV/VIS spectroscopy) and viscosity (rheology) of liquids, as well as detection of radicals (electron spin resonance), the investigation of thin films (ellipsometry) and others.

UV/VIS spectroscopy can be used for detection and quantification of UV/VIS absorbing substances, e.g. unsaturated organic substances: For the detection of contaminants on surfaces, they are rinsed off with a suitable solvent and measured in solution.
