Trade fairs and events | Retrospect 2016

From March 15-17, 2016, international scientists and experts meet at the Congress Center Düsseldorf to discuss on the progress of storage technologies for renewable energies. This year again, Fraunhofer IGB will present the topics of sorptive heat storage and chemical energy storage. We look forward to your visit at the booth of the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance (CSA 07).

analytica is the International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis and Biotechnology. Its unique exhibition profile unites all topics that pertain to modern analysis in research and industry. At the Fraunhofer joint booth in Hall A1, booth 526, Fraunhofer IGB will show a newly developed real-time process mass spectrometer analyzing 30 substances simultaneously from the liquid and gas phase. Another focus of our exhibition is the development of methods for quality control, food and environmental analysis including water analysis.

IFAT is the World's Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management. From May 30 to June 3, 2016, Fraunhofer IGB will present current developments in advanced oxidation processes, desalination technologies, biological water treatment and nutrient recycling. For the first time, we will showcase our ePhos® process to precipitate ammonium and phosphate from wastewater through a purely electrochemical approach. We look forward to your visit at the Fraunhofer Water Alliance booth in Hall A5, booth 217/316.

As the only trade fair in the world focusing exclusively on industrial parts and surface cleaning, parts2clean not only reflects today’s market in its entirety, but also offers lots of added value in terms of its parallel three-day forum. At the booth of the Fraunhofer Cleaning Technology Alliance (Hall 7, Booth B41), visitors will gain insights along the entire industrial process chain with Fraunhofer IGB presenting R&D services in plasma cleaning and sterilization, plasma coating and surface analysis.

With the information event "Your future in Stuttgart" the city of Stuttgart addresses international students at regional universities. The aim ist o convince young qualified professionals of the attractiveness of the city and to win them for a career at the business and science location Stuttgart.

From June 6 to 9 the BIO International Convention 2016, the world's largest biotechnology trade fair, takes place in San Francisco, USA. As in the former years, Fraunhofer IGB presents its R&D services in cardiovascular tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and microfluidic chips for drug development at the booth of the Fraunhofer Group for Life Sciences in the German Pavilion.

In the EU-funded joint research project BioEcoSIM Fraunhofer IGB developed together with international partners a pilot plant for the production of high quality fertilizer from manure. On June 14, 2016, the institute will present the plant in a live demonstration.

The 9th European Elastin Meeting EEM 2016 is being held at Fraunhofer IGB. The intimate environment allows for ample discussion time with attending faculty and trainees. The program, which spans three days, has presentations in a wide range of topics. Abstracts can be submitted until April 15th, 2016, registration is open until June 1st, 2016.

Fraunhofer IGB explores the pressure change technology (PCT) for the preservation of beverages as an alternative to thermal or chemical methods. Therefore, a cleanroom pilot plant has been set up at the institute which will be opened on June 21, 2016. At the inauguration, guests can visit the new pilot plant and obtain an overview of the current state of research in an accompanying technical colloquium.

The world’s premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry will again be presenting everything the sector has to offer in 2016: a platform presenting solutions for products and processes in the polymer industry. Fraunhofer IGB will show technologies and processes relating to plasma functionalization of polymers and catalytic processes for the production of biobased polymers at the joint Fraunhofer Booth in Hall 7.0, booth SC01.
