Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the EU's current research framework program for the period 2014 to 2020. This funding program for research and innovation focuses on the three main research areas "Excellent Science", "Industrial Leadership", and "Societal challenges".

Public Private Partnerships (PPP)

 

PPPs aim at greater involvement of industry and better integration of national and regional activities.

Joint investment in research and innovation is essential for a smart and sustainable growth of our society.

The IGB is involved in the following PPPs:

European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)

 

Since 2014 the EIT has been part of Horizon 2020, which aims to increase the innovation capacity of Member States and achieve sustainable economic growth in Europe by integrating all areas of the "knowledge triangle" of education, research and innovation.

The IGB is involved in the initiatives EIT Food, EIT Raw Materials and EIT Health.

Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)

The 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7) provided by the European Union between 2007 and 2013 funded research projects in the four work programmes "Cooperation", "Capacities", "People", and "Ideas". Fraunhofer IGB and its project partners prevailed in numerous tenders throughout the seven-year period and got approval for 61 projects.

Sixth Framework Programme (FP6)

Between 2002 and 2006 the EU‘s 6th Framework Programme (FP6) gave funding to projects in nine different research areas.
