The German Pavilion at this year's Expo in Osaka, Japan, is dedicated to the circular economy. As part of the Circular Fashion exhibit in the German Pavilion, Fraunhofer IGB has incorporated its development of bio-based water-repellent coatings. The water-repellent properties of textiles are achieved by coating them with the natural raw material chitosan, which is obtained from waste streams in the food industry.
