Innovative Synthesis Processes | Group Manager Biotechnology

Dr. Vanessa Becker-Wegat leads the biotechnology group at Fraunhofer IGB's BioCat branch in Straubing. She studied Biochemistry at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg and earned her PhD from the Technical University of Munich. The group develops scalable biotechnological processes based on microbial and enzymatic systems. A particular focus of her research is the use of oleaginous yeasts for the sustainable production of lipids and fatty acids.
