Dr.-Ing. Georg Umlauf has been at Fraunhofer IGB since 2013. Umlauf studied mechatronics at the TU Dresden, specializing in "Special Manufacturing Methods". In 2020, he completed his PhD in process engineering on the application of carbon dioxide as a volatile lubricant in dry metal forming. Since 2018, he has been working as a research assistant in the innovation field of Functional Surfaces and Materials in the field of plasma processes.
